Hey guys! I recently purchased the "Lethal Weapon Collection" bluray boxset and was REALLY pissed to find out that here in Spain the Warner Bros branch decided to include the 2007 version of part 1 which doesn't include the remastered picture and some cool extras (eg. Donner's audio commentary). I checked some online vendors and a couple of unboxings in YouTube and realized that no other country had this distribution problem of this 5 disc set. I'm certainly not settling for this cheap deal, so I'll get my money back and buy the package overseas (probably the US Amazon site).

I play my blurays with Sony's PS3. I'm aware that games are region-free, but I'm not sure about blurays. Do you guys know for sure if I would be able to play them without a hitch?

Awww! I'm too old for this poop!  XD

Thanks!

Hey Bullfighter!

Great question, and we get that a lot!

Here's your answer. Technically Blu-Rays are encoded for either : Region A, B, C, or Region Free.

A : Is US, Canada, Asian nations (Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, etc..)

B: Is Europe, Australia and New Zealand

C: Russia and India

However a bunch of them are simply created Region Free. It actually depends on the Studio that is releasing the film. FOX titles tend to be Region Locked, as well as some titles from SONY, Lionsgate and MGM. But the rest seem to be region free.

The best resource I have found is this website:

http://bluray.liesinc.net/

They list all the new Blu-Ray discs that are releases and tell you wether or not they are Region Locked.

Take Care!

Hi Suny! Thanks so much for your quick response. Thanks too for that link, it will be very useful to figure out what movies are save to buy overseas.

BTW, I enjoyed your latest podcast. Surely enough, the conversation was handled very maturely…hehehe.

Cheers!

Vinny  ;)
